On Youth

A recent conversation reminded me of this dialogue:
Roger Sterling: Don, isn't it possible that the recently weaned have some unique perspective? Joy. Enthusiasm.

Donald Draper: You're talking as if they're some fresh version of us. They're not. Young people don't know anything, especially that they're young.

And this one:

The Doctor: And so it's their choice, but offer a child a suitcase full of sweets and they'll take it.  Offer someone all of time and space and they'll take that too.  Which is why you shouldn't.  Which is why grownups were invented.
